Islamic Book Trust Kuala Lumpur is a registered trust under the Trustees (Incorporation) Act of Malaysia with the objective of promoting Islamic books and literature. Affiliated to The Other Press Sdn Bhd, its sister publication and distribution wing, its main focus has been to publish good books on Islam in attractive, readable formats, and make them available at affordable prices to the students and general public.
We have since published over 200 serious titles on Qur’an and Quranic studies, Sunnah and Hadith, Seerah, History, Islamic Law, and books on contemporary issues in the Islamic movement. We have worked with other organisations to bring the message of the Qur’an to the public, and have undertaken joint Qur’an distribution projects with various local Islamic bodies including teaming up the pioneer project to place copies of the Qur’an in hotel rooms in Malaysia. We have also cooperated with international organisations such as Council of American Muslim Prisoners (USA), Zayed House for Islamic Culture (UAE), Muslim Youth Helpline (UK) and Darul Uloom Islamic Academy (Australia), by publishing low-cost, custom designed editions of the Meaning of the Qur’an for mass distribution and gifts to public.
By concentrating strictly on English books on Islam, we have succeeded in upgrading the production of Islamic books to international standard, both in quality and contents of the books. Alhamdulillah, our efforts are being appreciated and many of our of publications are recommended readings for students in tertiary institutions.
