K.G. Saiyidain

Dr K.G. Saiyidain (1904-1971) is one of India’s leading educationists. After a brilliant academic career, he went to England where he obtained his M.Ed. Degree from Leeds University. On his return to India, he held with distinction the posts of Professor of Education at the Aligarh University, Director of Education, Jammu and Kashmir State, Educational Adviser to the Government of Rampur and Bombay, and Secretary and Adviser to the Ministry of Education, Government of India. He had also served as Visiting Professor at the Universities of Wisconsin and Stanford, and at the Teachers College at Columbia University, New York. In 1964 he was invited as a senior scholar to The East-West Center, Hawaii.
